Taking a taxi to Hercules Caves
A taxi or private transfer is the simplest way for many visitors to reach the caves. The important part is not a published fare — we do not verify one — but agreeing the whole arrangement before departure.

Agree five things before you go
Confirm the total price, whether it is one-way or return, how long the driver waits, where the pickup point is, and what stops are included. A low headline price may cover only a drop-off. If you want Cap Spartel or the Achakkar coast as well, say so before setting out.

Admission stays separate
The official admission categories are 30/10 DH for Moroccan or resident adults/children and 80/40 DH for foreign adults/children aged 7–13, checked 4 November 2026. A commercial transfer or excursion price is not this tariff. Pay the entry fee through the official channel and keep the two costs separate.
On the way back
Do not assume a taxi will be waiting outside the site. Arrange your return with the same driver, or check the last available scheduled service if you use one. Keep the cave visit within the published 09:00–17:00 window and allow time for the drive back to Tangier.
Before you go
How much is a taxi from Tangier to the caves?
We do not publish a fare because we have not verified current rates. Ask your accommodation for a reference price and agree the total, including waiting and return, before departure.
Should the driver wait?
Many visitors prefer it because return availability at the site is not verified. Agree the waiting time and any extra charge explicitly.
Does a taxi price include the entrance ticket?
Do not assume so. The official admission categories are charged separately from commercial transport or tour packages.
