Where to stay when visiting Hercules Caves

This guide does not list or rank hotels. The useful decision is which part of Tangier to base yourself in, given that the caves are on the Atlantic coast about 14 km from the city.

Most needed

Staying in central Tangier

The city centre puts rail, ferry and most urban services within reach, and gives you more choice for arranging a coastal transfer. The trade-off is that every cave visit involves an out-and-back trip. We do not verify transfer times or specific transport connections from any district.

Staying towards the coast

Accommodation nearer the Cap Spartel side may shorten the coastal leg, but we have not verified which properties exist, their current operation, or their distance to the caves. Check a live map and confirm with the property whether they arrange transport to the site.

Questions to ask before booking

Ask how you would reach the caves and return, whether a driver can be arranged, and what the check-out or luggage arrangement is on your cave day. Confirm the official 09:00–17:00 window for the date you plan to visit rather than building an itinerary around an assumed schedule.

Before you go

Which area is best for the caves?

Central Tangier offers the widest transport options; the Cap Spartel side is closer to the coast. We do not verify specific properties or transfer times, so compare using a live map.

Do hotels include cave transport?

We have not verified any hotel transfer. Ask the property directly before booking.

Can I go straight from the airport to the caves?

It is possible to plan, but we do not verify airport transport, luggage storage or journey times. Split the trip into two legs and confirm locally.
