A half-day trip to Hercules Caves
This is an editorial route shape, not a booked tour: one main cave visit, a short coastal extension and a planned return to Tangier. Times are suggestions; confirm all operating details on the day.
Most needed
Step 1 — the caves
Check the official 09:00–17:00 window and your admission category before leaving. Allow roughly 45–60 minutes as a guide suggestion for the caverns and the ocean-facing opening, plus any queue. Dark, humid limestone surfaces call for shoes with grip.
Step 2 — the Achakkar and Cap Spartel coast
Continue along the Atlantic coast towards the Achakkar area and Cap Spartel, which official tourism material presents alongside the caves. Each stop has its own access conditions and is not included in the cave ticket. We do not verify driving times, beach access, viewpoints or parking.
Step 3 — return to Tangier
Agree the pickup point and time with your driver before you enter the caves, and leave a margin for traffic and any extra stop. If you use a scheduled sightseeing service, confirm its last departure with the operator. A sunset at the cape is a separate plan and does not extend the cave’s published hours.
Before you go
Is half a day enough?
For a straightforward cave visit plus one coastal stop, yes as a plan. We do not verify travel times, so keep the schedule flexible and confirm the return transport.
Do I need a tour for this route?
No. Independent transfers are possible, but we do not publish fares or timetables. Compare any package with the official admission categories and what is actually included.
Can I add other Tangier sights?
You can, but each has its own hours and access conditions. We do not confirm schedules for other attractions; plan them as a separate part of the day.
