From Tangier airport to Hercules Caves

The airport and Hercules Caves are on different sides of a Tangier itinerary. This page treats them as two separate legs and avoids the fixed fares and journey times that we have not verified.

Most needed

Split the journey into two decisions

First arrange the airport-to-city or airport-to-hotel transfer, then the coast trip to the caves. The ministry platform places the caves on the Cap Spartel massif about 14 km from Tangier; it does not describe an airport connection, and we do not publish a distance or time from the terminal.

If you are on a layover

Check the published 09:00–17:00 visiting window against your arrival and re-entry time, and keep a generous buffer for both transfers and any queue. Confirm that the site is open for your date before leaving the airport. A pre-arranged driver covering both legs is the arrangement to negotiate explicitly, including waiting time and the return to the terminal.

What we do not verify

We do not publish airport taxi tariffs, shuttle schedules, luggage storage, or a direct public transport link to the caves. If you need any of these, confirm them with the airport information desk, your accommodation or the operator on the day.

Before you go

Is there a direct bus from Tangier airport to the caves?

We have not verified a direct airport service. Check current airport transport options and the sightseeing bus operator separately before relying on a connection.

Can I visit the caves between flights?

Only if the published hours and your transfer times leave a safe margin. We do not verify journey times, so confirm locally and keep a large buffer.

Where can I leave luggage?

We have not verified luggage storage at the caves or at the airport for this itinerary. Ask your airline, accommodation or driver before travelling.
